We are a couple of familyes planting the seed of an ecovillage to build comunity and bring permaculture, and alternative spiritual and cultural sharing to our area.
At the moment, there is the hosts litle home space; in which we have a room suitable for 2 people, and plenty of shade for camping if you bring your own tent; there is a kitchen, a nice palapa chillout area, a shower, a composting toilet and a wonderful view. Solar pannels provide electricity for a bit of lighting, but we don’t have enough energy for fans or fridge yet. At the site everything is a bit “roots” but build with a lot of love and vision.
For now, we do not provide food, you will organize yourselfs for this; therefore, our expectation of work is only 2 hours a day. And we ask you to bring your own sheets or sleeping bags.
We follow the principles of permaculture in our process towards the creation of our sustainable comunity. At this stage, the tasks we will be working on include; keeping the host home clean and tidy, weeding, cleaning land, planting and mantaining the garden, adapting a space to eventually have chickens again, and helping to prepare a space for the next buildings which will be created through different ecological construction tecnique workshops.
Rancho “Akna” is a 25 minute drive to downtown and 10 minute drive to the beautiful La Punta beach. It is very near one of the main roads, where collective transport is accesible every 15 minutes.
No host will be sleeping at the site, only the volunteers, so you can make your own way during your stay and decide when you want to work, eat, cook, shop, take a walk, play or rest.
The host (Claudia) will be aviable a few minuts from the site, close to La Punta beach for any thing you might need, and I will be going to the site just to check that every thing is going fine; and let you guys know the projects for each week. If you really need, I can provide internet access at my home, which you wont have at the farm beacuse every thing is still a bit "roots"
If you play music we are always happy to jam!
