What is your previous experience with Organic Agriculture and Sustainable Development?
I lived and worked on a bed and breakfast/farm on Orcas Island in Washington state. I tended fruit orchards, vegetable and flower gardens, and prepared my employer for market. I started a roadside stand for selling eggs and strawberries and whatever else I could cart down the hill. I cared for chickens and ducks and all sorts of fowl, cleaned up after horses, llamas, alpacas, and two goats. Currently I nanny for 5 wonderful children in an intentional community.

What do you want the farms and fellow WWOOFers to know about you?
Hola, WWOOFERs!! Estudio biologia y poesia en Portland, Oregon, pero soy de Nuevo Orleans. Quiero trabajar con la tierra, aprender todo lo que puedo, crear arte, y conseguir una mejor comprensión del mundo. A note to those I have contacted recently: I will not be able to WWOOF this summer (2009) but am doing research for the summer of 2010. Saludos!

Hello Virgina,
Thank you for contacting us.
We would love to have you volunteering with us for 3 months. Those months are great because our children are out of school at that time and you could help with the summer camp. Please fill out our volunteer questionnaire and send other requirements, which you can find on our website www.tashirat.com under the volunteer section and please send me your email address so I can send you our updated program description - the info on the site is slightly outdated, we are in the process of changing it.

We look forward to hearing from you,
Kaisha

Hello again Virginia,
I am sorry you wont be able to get out this summer, and I hope everything is Ok at home. I am glad you answered, and please give me some feed back about our sites, as we wish to improve, and you have a good background from your experience in Washington. We are working on a botanical garden in the premises and including a collection of all flora collected in site, and with the idea of including a picture collection of insects. We also receive students from Universities as we sign for internships and speciific studies. It might be interesting for you. Anyway, lets stay in touch, and my email is bge@argovia.com.mx.
Best wishes, Bruno

Hello Virginia,

I am just arriving to Mexico shortly and wondered if you had any really pleasant experiences at any farms in particular. I am wanting to farm in San Miguel de allende, Guadalajara, in Michoacan, and down in Oaxaca and Chiapas. Have you been to any or many of these farms...did you get what you were looking for? just curious
