- I am mexican and live in Mexico City. I want to learn about livelihoods that are harmonius with the earth and have respect for other forms of live in it. I like learning, team work and to share knowledge. I also enjoy conversation. I have experience in sustainable development and ecology but from a theoretical point of view but I have cultivated some vegetables as my own source of food.
About my interests
Mi nombre es Nora Esquivel, soy mexicana y tengo 48 años. Vivo en la Ciudad de México y trabajo en el Instituto Nacional de Ecología. He tomado cursos sobre agricultura orgánica (para medios urbanos), elaboración de vermicomposta y arquitectura sostenible. Estos conocimientos los aplico solo para cultivar algunos vegetales para mi consumo personal.
Me interesa trabajar como voluntaria en las granjas orgánicas, porque estoy planeando tener una granja propia de ese tipo en el futuro cercano, y quiero aprender un poco sobre agricultura orgánica y formas de vida sustentable que me ayuden a echar a andar mi proyecto.
Me gusta trabajar con plantas y animales. También me entusiasma adoptar tecnologías apropiadas que contribuyan a hacer sustentable el uso de los recursos naturales y para facilitar el trabajo de campo. Ya construí un horno solar que uso para cocer pan. Mi lengua nativa es el español, pero puedo comunicarme en inglés aunque con un poquito de dificultad.

Thank you for your interest in our farm! Yes, you are most welcome to visit in May. Because of all that we have to show you and all of the questions we and our ranch manager, Jesus, will have for you, the week will probably fly by.
Your accommodation will be the mill (a national historic monument) and we will provide all meals at the house. We like to cook but we also enjoy whatever Jesús' wife Esperanza prepares because she know authentic Chiapanecan recipes.
