What is your previous experience with Organic Agriculture and Sustainable Development?
Anna has worked in several completely organic restaurants as both chef as well as waitress, so knows a fair deal about organic produce logistics and preparation. Rosa grew up on a small family farm in rural Scotland, spending lots of time with dogs, chickens, and sheep. Both Anna and Rosa have experience with horses, particularly Anna who spent much of childhood riding horses. We are both very fond of animals and nature, we both maintain a vegan lifestyle and attempt to make our city life as sustainable as possible. In terms of living outwith the city, we have a lot to learn and we are very eager to; the more we learn, the better we can implement these things into our own daily lives. We are especially interested in permaculture, but also have very little knowledge about this as of yet.
What are your reasons for joining WWOOF Mexico?
Learning about sustainable living and agriculture, Getting to know Mexico better
What do you want the farms and fellow WWOOFers to know about you?
We are interested in learning more about sustainable living and acquiring new skills, especially when this allows us to be outdoors for prolonged periods of time. We don't have much experience in terms of living sustainably outwith city life, but we are physically fit and willing to work hard! Both of us share a passion for, and are very active within, community drumming groups. This means that we teach, learn and perform in a variety of settings; the emphasis here lies on community and generally having a good time. Drumming is a great way to connect with others, and we believe that it can be transformative in a number of ways, whilst also easily accessible in its nature.
