hola,

I'm aaron and currently living in San Francisco. I was an active member of wwoof here in the states about 2 years ago. I stopped at a few farms/community gardens while traveling down the coast towards San Diego with the intention of continuing onto Mexico.

My last wwoof stint was not always so glamorous, and I know there is work to be done on any farm. At one of my farms I learned the farm owner's compost recipe, had many days shoveling and applying a compost treatment to his many fruit trees. At another I was more of an all purpose handyman, transplanting plants from a nursery, fixing things (like a water pump for a fountain), pruning, making compost, as well as woodworking (I left a planter box as a gift), which is another skill I bring. In my attempt to build planters in the last year I’ve  apprenticed with a cabinet-maker, taken a furniture making class, and have begun the process of creating a body of works. I've also been an active volunteer at a charity based urban farm here in s.f. called the Free Farm, where I primarily focus on work in the nursery.

I’m hardworking, love to work outside off of the "clock", and have been to Mexico before. It was not farming related but I did stay down in San Miguel D'allende for a bit. My Spanish is rudimentary but I’ve taken a class a few years back.

As of now I am headed south in August and wanted to know what your needs are around then? I am eager to be more fluent in Spanish and eager as well to reinforce my current path with more sustainable practices, in particular permaculture design and natural building. Please be in touch if we are on the same wavelength, I'd love to help your farm grow.

The end of August sounds great. I am also looking into working at a wwoof farm in Merida, Yucatan, that would be a good next step. In all honesty I am looking for something a bit more long term, in the sense that most of my stays have only been for a few weeks. If I wander all the way down to Yucatan, I hope to be there for a few months. There are many projects you have I am interested in learning about (greywater sytems in particular) and I would love to be involved with more involved projects.

Hello!

My name is Clara Maeder. My friend Daniel Adams and I are going to be in your area from August 10th to August 25th and are interested in coming to work at your farm. We both have experience with organic agriculture and raising chickens.

I am currently working on an urban organic farm in Washington, DC and have worked on various smaller scale gardening projects in the past as well. I enjoy farm work and am excited to learn more about organic farming and the methods you use to grow food. I speak some Spanish and have been to Mexico once before, so I am looking forward to visiting again.

Daniel also has experience working on small scale organic farming and gardening projects and speaks Spanish. He worked in the Sian Ka'an reserve for three months last year and is looking forward to traveling back to Mexico.

Please let me know if we could help out at your farm.

You can contact me at cmaeder@bates.edu.

I am also in touch with Daniel but if you would like to contact us both, his email is dadams1215@gmail.com.

Looking forward to hearing from you and learning more about your farm.

Thanks,

Clara

hola martine,
I'm a student studying biology at the University of Texas at Austin and have been traveling through central america studying spanish. My travels are coming to end and I'm really looking to spend some time volunteering. My main goal in central america is to learn Spanish, but I have a love for nature and volunteering also. At home I am the president of a student volunteering organization, and the grounds officer at my Coop.I have spent time volunteering in farms around Austin, I am active in both my local and school community gardens, and have experience with livestock.
Ive never had any problems integrating into new groups of people. I love getting to know and learning from different people around the world. I think its safe to say I´m a laid back person, a dedicated worker, and overall good guy. I´m traveling with a tent and sleeping pad so sleeping accommodations really aren´t a big problem for me.

I´m staying in Central America until August 30th, i can dedicate 2 weeks starting early August n if all goes well would love to stay for the remainder of my time (about 1 month.)
I really do promise to be the best worker you have ever had! as long as i can get a little coffee in the mornings to get my butt movin it normally never stops!

i look forward to hearing from you!

Hola Martine,

¡Que bueno escuchar de usted!  I do not remember if I mentioned that I would like to come with my fiancee.  She is a gringa biologist and a wwoofer and works very hard also.  I hope that that is OK.  I will tell her to contact you.  We are very flexible with the dates and length of stay but the sooner the better.  When would be the soonest time to start?  We would like to stay for 2 months but that is flexible also.

Please let me know when would be a good time to start and if 2 months is a good amount of time to stay.

¡Muchas Gracias!

aaron again,

just wanted to clarify, so the problem is i have misplaced my birth certificate and need to get a copy before my passport can be processed. Unfortunately this is not a fast process, I think realistically an arrival date of October 16th until December 1st is going to be my window. I am more than happy to research building a secadora, chicken coup, or whatever else you can imagine from now until then. I will try to touch base in the future, I hope to still make it there.

Hola Martine!

My name is Eva, I am traveling from New Zealand in the next few weeks to Mexico to wwoof and learn about sustainable agriculture and organic farming. I have read about your farm and would love to help out if you have any space from the end of September. I am a hard worker and not scared to get my hands dirty. I particularly am interested in composting toilets and sustainable greywater systems, as well as growing medicinal plants and organic food forests. My Spanish is basic but I am determined to improve while wwoofing.

Hope to hear from you soon

Muchas gracias,

Eva.
