What is your previous experience with Organic Agriculture and Sustainable Development?: I have my bachelors in Botany and have been working in ecology, horticulture, and agriculture since I graduated.

What are your reasons for joining WWOOF Mexico?: Learning about sustainable living and agriculture, Getting to know Mexico better

What do you want the farms and fellow WWOOFers to know about you?: I am interested in farming in desert and tropical climates.

Your work and studies sound great. What we are doing here depends on the season. Now we´re in the dry season until May, when the afternoon rains begin (and they can be heavy). So we can collect seeds best during the dry months. We also visit farmers in the countryside who are growing vegetables, corn, beans and wheat. A typical day on the farm includes weeding, planting and harvesting, and watering during the dry months. Also making and spreading compost, hauling manure from the neighbor´s dairy. Lots of manual labor.

We garden about half an acre loaned to us for the seed project, and hire two full-time workers.

If you are happy sharing a room and the bathroom with another wwoofer, then you are most welcome in our building. There are also inexpensive hostels in our area, if you prefer. Marzo está bien. Estamos cortos de espacio de dormitorio ahora, entonces es posible que tendrás que quedar en un hostel, pero puedes venir a trabajar, y te daremos de comer, por lo menos.
