Granja Tequio is a permacultural farm.
We work on:
Organic agriculture
Ecological architecture
Ecotechnology
Education
" Granja Tequio " aims to be a space of motivation, as other projects
have been for us. Aware of the current need for places where
people, especially the young, can find a different horizon of
possibility, and aware of the major changes coming, at a planetary
level, we at “Granja Tequio” want to be part of the movement for a
full and sustainable life.
The farm is 10,000 m2. We grow different kind of plants, edibles,
medicinals and fruit trees, using a variety of farming technics:
Biointensive, parad de Crestall, square foot garden, parcelas.
We have great weather and an incredible view of the volcanoes.
More about the farm: www.granjatequio.com.mx
Lodging: We have have shared dorms.
Meals: The food that is shared between all is vegetarian, and we have
meals twice a day (breakfast and diner).
Language: Basic Spanish is required, but a high Spanish level is preferred.
We are looking for enthusiastic, interested and hard working
individuals that care about the environment and can share a positive
exchange.

Hola!
Somos dos mujeres de Noruega. Llamamos Jeanette y Marthe. Tenemos 23 y 24 años. Somos asistentes social.

As you can see we know some spanish, but are still in the learning process. We are taking classes, and we hope a month on Cuba will help improve our spanish.

We are both members of WWOOF Mexico.

We care a lot about the environment, and are so happy we found WWOOF Mexico! This would be a great experience to bring back home. The presentation of your farm looks very interesting, with education and architecture in addition to farming!

We can both contribute with hard work, laughter, and lots of fun.

We hope to get the chance to work on your farm, and appreciate if you answer us before we leave for Cuba. Thanks!

Abrazos y besos
Marthe y Jeanette

Hola!

I found your posting on the WWOOF Mexico Host Directory and want to indicate my interest in volunteering at your farm. From the description of the area you live in, and the types of activities and work involved, I feel that this opportunity most closely matches what I was looking for this summer.

My name is Roxanne Ravago, and I am 21 years old. I am in the third year of my Bachelor's degree, studying relaciones laborales, los derechos laborales, y economía laboral at Cornell University in New York. Currently, I am studying español, los derechos, y arte for the semester at Universitat Pompeu Fabra in Barcelona.

During my stay here in Barcelona, I live with a Spanish host family, who has made my transition abroad easier, welcoming me into their family and treating me like one of their own children. My host parents have two older daughters with families of their own but frequently visit on weekends to eat lunch and enjoy each others' company. This prior experience living with a host family in Spain will be beneficial for when I live with other hosts in the future, such as this volunteer opportunity with you. I have learned and always try to embrace and respect others' lifestyles, as well as share some of my own, while living with a host family because it will make the time more meaningful and worthwhile for everyone.

After my semester of study in Barcelona, I want to continue to pursue my passion for learning more about the Hispanic culture. I have already improved my Spanish since arriving in Barcelona, but I would like to become fluent. Other than Spanish, I also speak French and Tagalog (the Philippine language). I love to meet new people from all over the world and from all walks of life, so WWOOF is a perfect organization to connect people with common interests. I can learn and adapt quickly, work hard, and am very easy to get along with. I am flexible and open to trying and doing new things.

I hope to volunteer some time between early to mid-July until mid-August (1 month or more). This is my first time as a WWOOFer, but I have heard many great and positive comments about the organization and students who have participated in it in the past, saying they loved their experiences.

Thank you and I look forward to hearing from you! I hope we can manage to work something out.

Yours truly,
Roxanne Ravago

Hola! Me llamo Maria, tengo 18 años.

Hi there! My name is Jacob and my wife and I would love to come work on your farm. We are backpacking from Acapulco to Brazil and would like to WWOOF along the way. Your farm sounds amazing and we would be more than happy to stay for as long as possible. We should be in your area around late June to Mid July. We are now learning Spanish and hope to have a good grasp on the language by that time. Please contact us, when convenient, either on my WWOOF page or my email, which is jacobclutter@yahoo.com. Thank you so much and we look forward to hearing from you.
