Location: 25 minuest by bus from Pochutla (shopping, internet, phone). 50 minutes from Huatulco airport. Taxis are available from town.
Ecological Education and Retreat Center set by the Pacific Coast, overlooking the ocean on a high cliff area of dry tropical forest with access to an open sea beach 100 meters below. Dry season is from February until June and almost all the trees loose their leaves, and in the rainy season from june until october the forest becomes a jungle and remains green until january. We are mainly a 33 Ha independent Nature Reserve but we have a small area of about 1Ha planted with fruit trees and a vegetable garden. The only ones living here are us, Naim and Marytere, with help from a local and wise zapotec, Juanito. We have plans of ecological education in the area which we need help with. Among them are: the investigation and documentation of the local medicinal plants, family gardens workshops with our seed bank sharing, ecological education talks in the communities near by and starting a local tree source for reforestation. Much help is needed to serve and to share green consciousness with the local communities. Deforestation is happening at an impressive high rate. Action is needed and the two of us can not do everything by ourselves. We need help for a minimum of a month and a half. We don´t have electricity and live a very simple and rustic life, but we do have a well equipped kitchen and a good hurricane shelter. We share a Mother Earth Spirituality and have Sweatlodge and Earth Prayer Ceremonies often.
Accomodations are rustic. Camping spots and latrines set amongst the forest. Bring your own tent and bedding. Bring biodegradable soap, shampoo, conditioner, toothpaste and laudry soap, since it is impossible to get in the area. Food is mainly vegetarian with a raw foodist inclination, when it is possible we get some things from our own garden. The work in the kitchen is communal and help is always required. There is also a wood stove rustic kitchen open for personal use.

Hi,
We are going to travel in Mexico & Guatemala for six months. We are really interested in working in your organic farm like volunteers. We have some experience in solar oven, ecological technologies and organic gardening. We are so enthusiasm to learn and discover.
We have planed to be in Oaxaca in March. We hope that it will be possible to come in your farm during this period (for 2-3 weeks).

Thank you for your answer.

¡Gracias, y paz!

Hello,
I will be traveling to southern Mexico in the month of April with my boyfriend. We are both WWOOF members and are eager to get out of city life and into farm living. Our travel plans are open ended. We are planning to travel from farm to farm from Mexico City up to the Yucatan Peninsula. We wish to help on your farm and are planning our trip based on farm's needs. Will you need help on your farm during the months of april or may? Thank you for your time.

Greetings!
I recently became a WWOOF member and can not wait to offer my help in anyway, shape or form! I've done small gardening projects including, helping to design and build my mothers half acre garden and greenhouse. I am eager to learn about organic farming and am willing to do any work to help the project and learn. My main contrabution would be my construction skills. I've paid my bills doing construction for many years and my hammer is your hammer! I love working on projects and seeing proggresion especially on large ones. I am a hard worker and very self motivated and love to work with people. I will be travelling into Mexico in April and would like to experience many WWOOF farms so knowing when a good time for me to arrive and help would be benificial for my planning. Thank you for taking the time to read this and I'll look forward to hearing from you.

Greetings,

The description of your surroundings sounds astonishingly breathtaking. My name is Riley Evans I am currently living in San Francisco and attending the State University, I am an avid gardener, constructor, cook, surfer, environmentalist, photographer, artist, and explorer. I enjoy reading, writing, yoga, and meditation too. I am searching to gain knowledge on sustainable living and organic farming for the hopes that one day I can live sustainably, fully self sufficient, detached from society. I hope to discover myself more intricately with my time away from the distractions of life back home. I hope we can arrange for me to stay for a month, I am planning on traveling to central america at beginning of june. Please feel free the ask me for more information about myself and travel plans. Hope to hear from you soon.

Hello Marytere!

Your farm sounds magical. My friend and I have never been to mexico and would love to visit your farm. We saw you were looking for people for a month and a half and would love to be able to stay that long but my friend is from australia and her visa only allows her to leave the US for a month. We share your green consciousness and are as overwhelmed by deforestation in our homes as you are in yours. We would love to offer our help and our energy and would feel honored to work with you. We live in california and are working hard in the ecological education movement. We are coming to oaxaca on the 9th of July and leaving the 4th of august. If you would have us we can commit all of our time in Mexico to your beautiful home. Thankyou and hope to hear from you soon!

Hola!
Just to let you know that I have sent you an email with regards to wwoofing at your retreat center. Your place sounds wonderful, and I really enjoy being deep in nature. I am very flexible with my time, as I plan to be in Mexico for a year. I also tend towards raw/living foods (and enjoy preparing food), have a strong green consciousness, have some experience with permaculture/gardening and care very much for mama earth. I am teaching myself Spanish, and hopefully by the time I get to you, my spanish will have been enriched as I plan to take lessons when i arrive in Mexico in May! :)
Muchos Gracias
Ahrian

Hola Marytere y Naim,

Saludos!

I have travelled all over the world working and Woofing between jobs in Canada, Queen Charlotte Islands, Portugal and the UK so am used to lots of physical labour and the WWOOF environment.

I look forward to hearing from you and hope that you still have some spaces left for these dates
