Latest Activity: Jan 17

Located on the shores of lake Pátzcuaro (state of Michoacán), 5 hours
by bus from Mexico City, we are in a beautiful region between
mountains and volcanoes, and nearby indigenous “purhepecha” villages, an
interesting archeological place with one of the two sites in Mexico
where you can see round pyramids.
We are a social health initiative project run by a
married couple. We are a Medical Doctor and a Herbologist/beekeeper with
training and experience in herbal medicine, education, ecological
construction and beekeeping, among other disciplines. Activities range from
house chores (cleaning and preparing meals) to farming, construction and
beekeeping.
Volunteers have their own room in the house and they follow the
rhythms and customs of the
daily life with us. When it is necessary they share the rooms.
Our place also offers young people a pause in their lives
before having to decide on a certain career or course of studies and a
chance to develop confidence before entering the professional world full
of competition and aggression, where human beings are considered also
productive machines. But we also ask you to be prepared and have a
certain experience with life out of the city.
With us, you can participate as a volunteer and also a member
of the family. We receive non smoker people from 20 to.... years old.
You can consult our web-site:
www.lasacanoasaltas.org

Lodging:

It is possible to stay in a room, sometime you might have to share it.
We rarely accept more than 3 volunteers at a time.

Meals:

We provide the meals 3 times a day, nevertheless you ´ll be asked to
prepare some meals and make bread, so think about recipes adapted to the
conditions.

Hi,
I will be in Patzcuaro in the next week or so. Your situation sounds quite interesting, and especially the bees and herbal medicine. I am however not the in age group you have requested, but wanted to write anyway to see if you make exceptions. Please let me know if you would consider having me participate in your activities.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Thank you,
Linda Fisher

¡Gracias, y paz!

Your description of your farm is intriguing to me. I would like to come in April and work with you for at least three months. I am interested in health and nutrition, and in particular am interested in learning about farming and beekeeping. I love growing things, learning and traveling. Although I know little Spanish, I'd like to learn. I am 20 years old, a non-smoker, in good health, and accustomed to physical labor.
I look forward to your reply,
Anna Meiners

Hola!
I really enjoyed the description of your place. I am a 31 year old female from South Africa and am interested in green living, permaculture, natural building, consciousness and spirituality. I also practice yoga, meditation, free dance, massage and healing, and would enjoy being in a space where I can share these skills and learn others. I have also studied anthropology and psychology.

I have lived and wwoofed on eco-communties in South Africa, and have some experience with permaculture and natural building, though loads more to learn. I love horses, although I do not have much riding experience, and would really enjoy working with them. I am also very interested in working with and learning about medicinal plants and I enjoy preparing food. I would like to learn Spanish, and am teaching myself from a textbook :) !

I am happy to serve and and to participate in any activities/projects that would be of value to you.

I arrive in Mexico Mid-May on a year open ticket, which gives me great flexibility in volunteering. I am not sure when would be a good time to wwoof with you, but i would like to make contact so that we can make arrangements towards this.

Muchos Gracias
Ahrian

Greetings,

My partner Viktoriya (also a wwoof member) and I have been traveling on the Pacific Coast of Mexico for the last two months as woofers. We are interested in heading south to continue woofing. We have been learning a lot and are really enjoying the experience. We are both hard working and eager to learn more about organic agriculture and living sustainably. We are currently on the coast in Jalisco at another wwoof farm and are looking for a woof farm for the month of May. If you would be able to accommodate us, that would be great! Our dates are flexible and so are we. Looking forward to hearing from you.

Hola,
My boyfriend and I are currently staying in Cuernavaca, hoping to soon become active members of the WWOOFing community here in Mexico and to gain as much experience as possible during our extended trip throughout Latin America. Our schedule is open so we are very flexible in terms of the needs of your farm. We would love to come work for you, as the oppoortunity to be part of your project sounds amazing. We have our own sleeping equipment (pads, bags, and a tent) if space is an issue. We look forward to hearing back from you. Thank you, Emily and Tyler

Hi
My name is Bea, and I will be traveling through Mexico with my boyfriend from November onwards. We are very eager to learn more about ecological farming and living. 26 and 30 years old, we have been interested in and exploring these subjects over the past couple of years. We are now ready to enrich our interest with a greater amount of practical experience, combined with traveling and discovering other cultures.
We are enthusiastic workers and very motivated to assist you with your project(s). Please let us know if you have any availability for volunteers from November onwards.
Looking forward to your reply,
Bea
