25 hectares, Sustainable project started on 2004. The main infrastructure is a windmill, water storage tank of ferrocement. In the beggining of 2006 we are finishing the house and work-shop. Also this year may start produce 60 fruit trees. Litle solar electricity, for reading and some music. Little resources. Unfrecuently production of adobes. Cactus reforestation (nopales, magueyes) and other endemic plants.
We make mermelate when peaches are in the seson, and also some other preserves like tomato souce and "Leche Quemada". Nice wood oven where we make pizzas and other more local foods. We especially need people with experience in community organization, cooperatives, but before everything, volunteers with enthusiasm and willing to learn and share experiences.
Very welcome everyone anywhere you come from.

Jackie and Bill Robson Comment by Jackie and Bill Robson on October 4, 2009 at 1:42pm
Greetings,
My name is Jackie Robson and my husband is Bill.
We would like to volunteer as WWOOFERS during the months of January through March 2010.
Our background information;
We live in Victoria, BC, Canada. While at home, Bill works as a Realtor and I'm a Horticulturist\Community Garden organizer. We're both very active volunteers – Bill is on the board of a community development organization called Innovative Communities.org. I work and volunteer in several community garden projects in town. We're very interested in alternative building and energy systems, co-housing, organic gardening and most recently, raising urban chickens.
We've spent 3 winters, working as WWOOFERS in Costa Rica, traveling to several other central american countries, learning Spanish.
We kept returning to the farm in Costa Rica,(The Ark) having become friends with the owners. It has been difficult reaching Tommy since his wife Pat has died so we don't know if we can provide a reference there.
We spent another 2 winters in Guatemala living/volunteering/studying/making rich friendships with the spanish speaking Mayans. We could provide a reference from the Spanish school that we volunteered for in San Pedro. Contact Javier at javier.navichoc@gmail.com

We both love to work, gardening, painting, animal caretaking, you name it, while maintaining a balance between work and play. Looking forward to another warm Mexican winter and using our rather rusty Spanish again.

I am currently staying in Cuenavaca and would be interested to work at your farm. I am available from Jan to Feb and I am quite flexible between these dates. I do not have any experience in farming but i am acustomed to hard work and have some carpentry skills.

Hola! :)

Arturo Hernandez Comment by Arturo Hernandez on March 5, 2010 at 12:20pm
Hola!
y gracias,
Arturo.

Hola!

My name is Kaitlin and I am a recent graduate and a first time WWOOFer. I will be traveling in Mexico from (approx.) July 17th through August 24th and am extremely interested in working at your farm if you have the space for me. I am excited that you offer such a wide range of experiences and opportunities to learn. I am interested in learning all I can about sustainable living, conservation and eco-friendly business practices so that when I return home I can really apply my knowledge and share it with as many as possible. I am also eager to improve my very basic Spanish skills and learn first hand from locals of Mexico's vibrant hisotry, customs and culture! I am a very hard worker and very personable. I love meeting new people and the especially the exchange of knowledge and ideas with those from different cultures. I am enthusiastic and very open-minded. If you have room for me during the month+ I will be in your area I would love to hear from you and exchange more information!

Best,

Kaitlin

Greg Narr Comment by Greg Narr on June 14, 2010 at 8:35pm
Hola! como estas? Me llamo Gregorio. I plan to come to Mexico from now until September. I am really interested in learning about sustainable agriculture and getting my hands dirty. My knowledge of farming starts and ends with the little bit I gleaned from my mother's tulip garden. But I'm convinced that it is the wave of the future and want to be a part of it. I hope you can host me for a bit. Yours truly, Greg
Dwight Maxwell Comment by Dwight Maxwell on July 26, 2010 at 9:21pm
Hola! Yo me llamo Dwight. I will be in Mexico starting tomorrow, and will be headed to your area. I have very little experience with organic agricultural. However, I do have a very interesting water system that i would like to share with you that has potential to grow crops faster and reduce water requirements at the same time. I have successfully experimented with 2 tomato plants, and would love to see if this technology can consistently work and is efficient for larger scale agriculture. I also would love to learn much more Spanish.
Tom Andrés Comment by Tom Andrés on November 2, 2010 at 11:06pm
Hello,

My sister and I from France are planning to do our first trip ever to Mexico during the first 2 weeks of January.
We are hard workers, very interested in eating local food, and to take part in all the activities in the farm.
My sister is 32, she’s a comedian and she has already woofed in Britain. I’m a 22 student, I like physical and outdoor activities, and traveling abroad. We both speak English and have notions of Spanish that could improve.

We are interested in joining your farm during our entire stay.
Do you have any need and room for 2 woofers at that time of the year?

Best,
Tom and Charlotte
