We work and live in a 8 acre ranch located 15 minutes from downtown Tijuana in Playas de Rosarito, Mexico.
We cultivate vegetables and apply organic practices to our fields, we are new at it and are learning a great deal.
We have a small room with electricity, bed, fridge and small table available good for one person or a couple, bathroom is outside a very short walk away all in-between growing fields. We occasionally grow flowers and some one crop fields. We hope to be able to grow cover crops and we have a project for building small wood, hay and adobe cabins as a sort of bed and breakfast with foods prep coming from our fields. Cabins will also be used to accommodate our visiting woofer friends once built. Our sales project is to build and install a store on our commercial lot which is part of the ranch land parallel to the highway. We are projecting to attend the local restaurant demand as well as creating a local fresh veggie box program for direct field to table clients. We sometimes get some local musicians together and have a party.
We ask of the woofers to help us in diverse activities but mostly field work, for exchange of food and housing we ask for 6 hours of work daily for 6 days or 8 hours a day for 5 days. We are not vegans or vegetarians and we mostly eat vegetables and grains but they get mixed up with some meats. Yet this is us and we usually cook for everyone yet you woofers are welcomed to eat vegan vegetarian or cook there own food from whatever we have in stock, we might want to share and taste your makings. We also accept camping out in tents if you so wish.
We have internet access, we don't have a t.v..
Once the woofer has done his or her duty you are welcomed to feel at home or go out to the city and we will be happy to let woofers know of places to go or activities to be done..
