Farm is owned and operated by both Travis and Lisa. Whitt’s End is located in Cabo del Este, or The East Cape about 45 miles north of Cabo San Lucas with an incredible view of the Sea of Cortez, in Baja California Sur, Mexico. We are very remote with incredible starry nights. There is no public transport out this far but lots of locals that will pick up hitchhikers going to San Jose del Cabo and points north such as La Paz. There is no cell phone reception. There is internet available. Our ranch is about 1.5 miles above the East Cape Road, a dirt road that runs from La Ribera to Zacatios.
Whitt’s End Rancho is a working ranch. Currently we have dairy goats, chickens for meat and fresh ranch eggs, fresh cheese, and dairy and lots of organic veggies. All available for wwoofer’s to cook and eat as well as all the fish you can catch. Oyster diving is excellent too.
Whitt’s End Rancho is built on green and sustainable ideas. We are totally off the grid and have our water delivered by one of the local ranchers. While we have ample power for our needs from our solar power system, and water storage, conservation is our way of life.
We have need for help with animal husbandry, infrastructure development, cooking and cleaning in exchange for tent camping, a tent camper available, hot showers, toilet & laundry facilities, BBQ, stove as well as all necessary implements for camp cooking and all the fresh food mentioned in the previous paragraph. A 6 day work week of 5 hours per day, split shifts mornings and evenings, for a minimum of 1 month, maximum is negotiable. Shorter stays will be considered if wwoofer has special skills that may be of use at the ranch. Internet is available with limited band-with. We are in need of a Webmaster for web page development. Accommodations will improve with infrastructure development.
The temps are in the upper 70s and lower 80s during the days and in the upper 50s lower 60s at night now until May. There is good shore fishing only 2 miles down to the beach. The water is cooling off but is still nice for snorkeling and diving. There is some snorkel and fishing gear available for wwoofer’s use. The local area offer’s great hiking and exploring. Please provide skill sets, work history and references with emails.
Come WWOOF your winter blues away at Whitt’s End Rancho in Los Cabos, BCS, Mexico
Hello Travis and Lisa,
I am very interested in visiting and working on your farm. I have solid experience with organic vegetable farming, love to cook, and am interested in helping with infastructure development. I also speak Spanish. I can commit to a month of work. I'm in Nuevo Leon right now and am planning on slowly making my way west. I think i'd be able to arrive at the middle to end of march. If you have a specific e-mail address i can send you a resume and references. Hope to hear from you. Thanks!
